Wind in Texas

Four Horizons

in development

The Four Horizons project is a 945 MW wind facility under construction in Baylor County, Texas. AES is dedicated to delivering energy projects with positive long-term impact, through creating jobs, building community partnerships, and generating tax revenue for local governments and schools.

Texas has long been a leader in energy generation and innovation, and AES is proud to play a vital role in supporting the state’s efforts to deliver abundant, reliable, and affordable energy.

Our commitment

We believe in being a good neighbor, ensuring responsible clean energy development reflects the unique character and needs of the region, and creates long-term value and positive impact for both the environment and local communities.

Economic and environmental benefits

The project is expected to generate substantial economic and environmental benefits for local communities and the region.

1.37 Million MWh

Carbon-free electricity generated each year

$200+ million

Expected to be generated in tax revenue for the City of Goodyear, Maricopa County, Arizona, and local school districts over the life of the project

360+ Jobs

Expected to be created during peak construction, plus an estimated 20 long-term operations and maintenance jobs

Project details

  • AES will be the long-term owner and operator of the facility, ensuring responsible management, sustained economic benefits, and a lasting partnership with the local community
  • At the end of the project's life, a decommissioning plan allows for the land to return to uses consistent with land-use policies at the time
