Benefitting local communities

We engage with stakeholders at every stage of our projects to deliver lasting, meaningful benefits for both communities and the environment. By working in close partnership with local communities while drawing on our global energy expertise, we help advance shared priorities through solutions tailored to local needs.

Social impact

AES’ US Social Impact Program strengthens positive socioeconomic and environmental impact through partnerships with local, regional and national organizations that improve lives today and in the future, delivering benefits beyond energy projects.

National        Nationally, we cultivate partnerships that demonstrate AES’ commitment to critical, topical issues such as workforce development, environmental conservation, and community resilience.
Regional                        Guided by our Social Impact Framework, regionally we  aim to build partnerships where we have clusters of project communities, providing non-profit organizations with meaningful funding to advance their missions in alignment with AES’ social impact and strategic company-wide goals.
LocalSupporting our project host communities is key to our collective success and is a critical part of our engagement strategy. Teams work closely with communities to understand their unique needs and values, working to bridge the resource gaps to create long-term impact.
